ICT Support In Essex and Suffolk

Laptop facing front

Technical support is Zonic ICT Service’s core offering, bringing low cost ICT support to primary, middle, specialist and high schools. With this service we offer schools a regular weekly or fortnightly visit with the same technician at a low hourly rate. We support all types of network and standalone systems including both curriculum and office administration systems.

We support office admin network systems, including Captia SIMS upgrades, and can also install a remote support service. Curriculum network systems we support include CC3, CC4, Schoolshare, Ranger, Ergo Free to Teach, CSE, Perseus and standard vanilla systems.

We aim to make sure that all schools we support have a reliable working ICT system, where users are able to use all software and hardware, are able to use the Internet and can print and save their work.

We now have an internal technician forum which details known problems and solutions that have been seen before in other schools, allowing technicians to quickly solve common problems.

Crayons lying flat

Some schools may already have a member of staff who is currently looking after the network system. We can work with them to help maintain the system, or we can take over complete management of the system. We can also train staff on using software as well as maintenance tasks that may need to be performed between scheduled visits, including changing tape backups and changing printer cartridges.

Testimonials from schools we supply services to can be found here and further references are available upon request.

Our services include:

Telephone Support

Mobile phone

If the school has any questions or problems between visits, we are always available on the phone and are glad to leave our contact details with the school and its staff to contact us.

Online Technical Support Website

Monitor displaying Zonic ICT website

As an inclusive service, we offer the school an easy to use ticket support website, where staff can detail their problems and work that needs to be completed. This allows the technician to be aware of any problems before they visit the school, and prepare for the upcoming visit. Some schools prefer to use an ICT log book, and we can also provide these and support this system.

Automatic System Checks

Two gears meshed together

This is similar to network checking services offered by other companies as a separate product, but this is included at no extra cost while we are supporting the school with regular on site technician services.

With the school’s permission we configure the system to perform daily scans of the server’s technical information and automatically upload the log files to our secure website. This does not upload any confidential information. In most cases we are also able to configure the server to email the technician to inform us if the system has detected a virus.

Server Hardware Checks

Including: Anti-Virus, Spyware, Backups and Disk Space

Regular checks on network servers

We perform regular checks on your network server and, in most cases, diagnose and fix problems before they happen. If we notice a problem we will inform you as soon as we notice it and take appropriate steps to fix the problem.

Any bugs in your system will be quickly removed

Software Repackaging

MSI, CC3 and CC4 Package Creation

We are able to create network MSI (CC3 & CC4) packages for your software including older software, as well as the newest releases.

VLEs and the School Portal

(Including UniServity cLc and e-Folio)

We offer support and advice in running your school’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). We can assist with the UniServity cLc School Portal system which is used by schools in Suffolk, and also with e-Folio which is used by schools in Essex. Additionally we can offer advice if you are looking to change your VLE to a different system such as DB Primary, Frog, My Learning Junior, itslearning or Fronter.

Remote Support Solution

Remote support laptop

We can install a secure remote support solution on the network server which allows us to access parts of the network system remotely. This also allows us to install updates, as well as fixing and resolving problems before our scheduled visit to the school.

System Migration, New Network Installation, Consultation and Technical Support

Projector and PC Cleaning Services

Computer and projector cleaning, thumbprints

We also offer complete cleaning services to your school to keep projectors and PCs clean and well maintained, monitors viewable from dirt and fingerprints, and keyboards free of dirt and germs. Dirty and dusty filters can block air-flow, reducing the life of electrical items and causing overheating issues. We also offer cleaning services for your school’s equipment during weekends and school holidays.

Using the latest Seaward Primetest 350 equipment, we are now able to offer schools a PAT testing service. We are able to provide the school with an electronic register of all items tested.

We can also provide replacement leads and power supplies for any items which fail the PAT test. This is a separate service to our ICT Technician service and is available to all schools, even if you are not currently using our technician services.

Network Cabling, Wireless Networks and Interactive Whiteboards

While we are able to supply network switches, cabling solutions and projectors, for larger projects we work together with Cablers Ltd to make sure major project work goes smoothly. This includes new classroom installations, Managed Wireless solutions and Interactive Whiteboards which includes Promethean and SMART Boards. When working with external companies we do not add any commission onto prices quoted, instead allowing the companies to provide quotes to the school directly. More information about Cablers Ltd can be found at their website: www.cablers.co.uk

Further Training Courses

While the technicians are familiar with the majority of curriculum software and can advise how to use most software, for further advanced training we recommend ICTinspires who offer Curriculum ICT support for teachers to all Primary and Special schools in the East of England. See the ICTinspires website for more details: www.ictinspires.co.uk www.ictinspires.co.uk

High Quality Support Service, Satisfaction Guaranteed!

Our technician service comes with a high level of customer satisfaction. No school has ever left our technician service! Please feel free to read some of our testimonials to see what our current customers are saying about us.

Low Costs

Loose change

We believe we are the least expensive ICT Support Service in East England, while also exceeding the service levels of other support providers. Our hourly rate is £19.99 per hour which is charged in 15 minute segments. We offer the same rate for visits completed during term time and visits during school holidays and weekends. The amount of time required to maintain the school’s ICT system will depend on the type of computer system and amount of equipment the school has. Small schools may only require a 1-hour weekly visit, while larger schools may require a 3-hour weekly visit or more. Please contact us to arrange a 6-hour free trial.

No Contracts

Crumpled up ball of paper

There are no minimum term contracts, meaning the service can be cancelled at any time with no penalties. We simply ask for one last visit after being notified to allow us to remove any notifications (Automatic System Checks and Remote Support) and to hand over any details to the next person who will be looking after your system. We require that schools agree to a Service Level Agreement document which is used to confirm what services we provide and the way in which services are charged and billed.

Liability and CRB Checks

Professional Indemnity

We have Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance. Our technicians are also CRB checked with an enhanced disclosure.

Introductory Offer

We offer a no-obligation 6-hour free trial to schools that are interested in our services. Please contact us for more details.
