A small computer that will help children to learn programming and coding has gone on sale today.
The Raspberry Pi computer has been developed by a group of volunteers from the UK technology industry and the IT educational sector, and is aimed at schools and the disadvantaged to get computer programming back on the agenda in UK schools. The device will get its official educational launch later in 2012.
“This means that when we launch into the educational market, there will be an experienced community of people using and making things with the Raspberry Pi. Software will be more mature and free of obvious bugs, and easier for children and educators to use,” the website says.

We have recently been contacted by a number of schools in Essex and the Chelmsford area regarding taking over the ICT support for their Admin Office Network system, using Capita SIMS and Integris G2 MIS products.
I am pleased to announce that we will be taking over the office network technical support for the schools that have contacted us so far.
We have been told that some companies are charging up to £70 an hour for supporting office networks in schools, and also locking schools into contracts of a minimum amount of hours, where some schools are struggling for those hours to be used.
We can offer a support solution for Office Networks at just £19.99 per hour on a complete PAYG basis, with no minimum amount of hours needing to be purchased.
We have recently been contacted by a number of schools regarding encryption and encrypting USB Pens.
This is possible to do using Software Encyption and Free Software such as Rohos Mini Drive, but the easiest and least time consuming solution is to use Hardware Encrypted USB Pens.
There are a number of available hardware encrypted USB pens available, although many of these are quite expensive. We can currently supply the INOV8 Secure Executive USB Pens which use Hardware Encryption
